Somebody kept one hour a week for twelve years —
the same hour, through two jobs and a move across the city,
never once bargained away — and said it was for the training.

At the end of the twelve years the training had in fact happened.
That was never in question. The numbers are in a drawer somewhere.
What stopped them was the other total:
one hour a week, twelve years, and not one person anywhere inside it.
